Psychiatric Evaluation & Assessment

Think Right Therapy will conduct a detailed interview to understand your medical and personal history. The provider will also use information from standardized assessment tools & questionnaires to guide decision management of a patient’s psychological state and any potential mental health disorders. The provider and patient will work together to develop an individualized plan of care that may involve therapy, medication, changes in behavior, lifestyle, or diet.

Medication Management

Effective medication management ensures patients take medications safely and effectively. It also helps patients to get the most benefit from their medications and prevent medication complications. At Think Right, you will work with your mental health provider to collaborate, review, and monitor all prescribed medications. You will also discuss any over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products to address any possible medication side effects and drug interactions.

ADHD Testing

At Think Right, we offer a comprehensive approach to our diagnosis of ADHD which we understand can greatly impact patients and their families. We use a FDA approved computerized test to objectively measure your ADHD symptoms. The test QB tech aka QB check is a 20 minute computerized test that can be taken in clinic or online. The results of QB tech will be used in conjunction with your provider evaluation to provide you with the most appropriate treatment options for your symptoms.

Genetic Testing

Genetic Testing is a tool that investigates how the DNA in YOUR body may or may NOT respond to medications. Think Right offers the GeneSight test which analyzes genetic differences in your DNA. Results can provide information about how you may break down or respond to certain medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.

Treatments for ADHD can include education, behavioral therapies, lifestyle modification, and/or medications.

Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a complex developmental condition characterized by challenges with social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviors. The symptoms and severity can vary widely among individuals, leading to a spectrum of abilities and challenges. While the exact causes of autism are not fully understood, it is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Early diagnosis and intervention can significantly improve outcomes for individuals with autism.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that causes extreme shifts in mood, energy, and activity levels. These shifts can make it difficult to function in daily life. Bipolar disorder can be managed with medication & counseling, but there is no known cure.. Some common medications used to treat bipolar disorder include mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, and antidepressants.

Some symptoms of bipolar disorder include:

  • Manic episodes: Periods of extreme elation, irritability, or energy

  • Depressive episodes: Periods of sadness, hopelessness, or indifference

  • Hypomanic episodes: Less severe manic episodes that don’t cause significant impairment

  • Sleep changes: Needing less or too much sleep

  • Risky behavior: Spending or giving away a lot of money, eating or drinking too much, or having reckless sex

  • Suicidal thoughts: Thinking about death or suicide

Depression

Depression is a mental health disorder characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest or pleasure in activities. It can affect how individuals think, feel, and handle daily activities, often leading to physical symptoms such as fatigue, changes in sleep patterns, and increased OR decreased appetite. Depression can vary in severity and duration, and while it may be triggered by specific life events, it can also occur without any clear cause. It is treatable through various methods, including therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by persistent,
unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) that individuals feel driven to perform in response to their obsessions. These obsessions and compulsions can interfere significantly with daily functioning and quality of life, often causing distress. People with OCD may seek to alleviate their anxiety or prevent a feared event through their compulsive behaviors, though these actions typically provide only temporary relief. Treatment often includes therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and medications like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).
